B23-73-10 now lives in Australia where it is cared for, since 1975, by its owner Allan Cruikshank.

The first race for the Ember Racing Chevron B23 was at the French Sportscar Championship round at Magny-Cours on the 1st May when Jean-Pierre Beltoise finished 7th. Next on the calendar was the 5th round of the World Championship of Makes, the Spa 1000Kms, a week later where the B23, driven by John Hine and Bob Howlings, qualified 9th and finished 4th in the 2-litre class.

Things did not go so well at the Nürburgring 1000kms, another WCM round, when big-end failure in qualifying saw the B23, driven this time by John Hine and Peter Hanson, fail to set a qualifying time and then retire early in the race with an oil leak and clutch problems.

Tony Goodwin was behind the wheel for the B23's next race at Vila Real but with no success and it was a similar story a week later at Estoril when Goodwin qualified 11th but retired after 3 laps.

The Nürburgring 500kms was a round of the European 2-litre Championship and it was John Quick's turn to drive but once again the Ember Racing car was out of luck retiring in the first heat with radiator damage after qualifying 26th out of 37 cars. The B23 re-appeared at the Barcelona 400kms at Montjuich, another European 2-litre Championship round, Tony Goodwin qualified 18th but wheel bearing problems saw a Heat 1 DNF.

Final race of the year was at Thruxton where in the Castrol/Motoring News GT race John Quick finished 4th on the road but dropped a place to 5th due to a 10 second penalty for a push start.
